Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a large-scale and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
